Newport Parents Association

The affairs of the Newport Parents' Association are managed by a committee made up of a Chairman and up to twelve members which include a Deputy Chairman, Hon Secretary and Hon Treasurer.  Parents and guardians of pupils at the school automatically become members of the association. The present officers of the committee are:
Chairperson – Michelle Turner
Vice Chairman – Tony Dale
Secretary – Lori Flawn
Treasurer - Jeanne Drake
The committee meet in the school library once a month during term time with the prime task of organising events to raise funds for allocation to the various departments within the school (normally at the beginning of each calendar year) for purchases not normally covered by the school or the local education authority.

Principal fund raising revolves around the Family Fun Day in September and our Grand Draw in the Autumn. In addition we organise Jumble Sales, Discos for the Lower School and other events during the year and also provide refreshments at numerous parents' evenings, school concerts and the annual musical.
Our Centurion Club is very successful. Membership costs just £12 per year with half the proceeds going to the school and the remainder being paid back in prize money to members in monthly draws with a minimum bonus draw each term of not less than £100. During 2008/2009 the club raised a very commendable sum of £930 for the school and this year, with we hope an increase in membership, it will be an even higher figure.

We are always in need of helpers, particularly for serving refreshments and maintain a register of willing names. If you can assist please, in the first place, contact Jeanne Drake in the school office.
