The ball is an annual celebration for the leavers in year 13. It is held at the end of the academic year and is a celebration of the year group’s Sixth form journey at Newport. It is usually held at Chilford hall, Linton, in May. Chilford Hall has a lovely banqueting hall in which the dinner and disco is held, and is a great place in which to drink, dance and celebrate! The hall itself is situated within beautiful grounds, in a secluded location.
The ball is always very popular, selling out of tickets last year. It is open to year 12’s to attend and teachers of the sixth form subject areas. It is a great chance for everyone to come together and remember the year. Novel awards are given to the students, for example best driver. The new head Boy and Girl is announced along with the deputies, by the Director of Sixth Form and the Headmaster. It is certainly an event not to be missed!
